It’s that time of year! It’s when the Unspoken Rules of Leadership uploads its Power 100 Ranking of the world’s top-performing CEOs.

1. Satya Nadella: Microsoft

Satya Nadella is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft. Before being named CEO in February 2014, Nadella held leadership roles in both enterprise and consumer businesses across the company. Most recently, Nadella was executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group. In this role, he led the transformation to the cloud infrastructure and services business, which outperformed the market and took share from the competition. Originally from Hyderabad, India, Nadella lives in Bellevue, Washington. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mangalore University, a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.

2. Judith McKenna: Walmart

Judith McKenna is president and CEO of Walmart International where she is responsible for all aspects of Walmart’s footprint outside the U.S., leading a team of 550,000 associates across 23 countries. Judith is transforming the shape of the international portfolio while expanding eCommerce and omnichannel offerings, leveraging innovations from across international markets to build strong local businesses that are powered by Walmart, and working to make lives easier by creating a global culture that puts the customer at the center of everything.

3. Andy Jassy: Amazon

Andy Jassy was named as President and CEO of Amazon after Jeff Bezzos stepped down in 2021. Jassy has been with the company since the beginning, 24 years in fact. He helped lead Amazon’s e-commerce business to the next level, leading Amazon Cloud Web Services and then taking various other senior leadership roles. He graduated in Government from Harvard College and then worked for 5 years before earning an MBA from Harvard Business school. In addition to his work at Amazon, he holds various other board and chair positions including supporting the Arts and AI security.

4. Julia Sweet: Accenture PLC

Julia Sweet, CEO of Accenture, a company that specializes in information technology, assumed her role in 2019. She started with Accenture five years prior doing general counsel and chief compliance officer duties. Prior to her time at the company, Sweet worked as a partner in a law firm for 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Claremont McKenna College in California and a Juris Doctor law degree from Columbia Law school in New York. She holds several other chairs and board positions in addition to her role at Accenture.

5. Tim Cook: Apple

Tim Cook joined Apple in 1998 and was named CEO starting in 2011. He was first responsible for Apple’s global sales and operations including supply chain activities. Before joining Apple, Cook was vice president of Corporate Materials and inventory for Compaq and was also the director of North American Fulfillment at IBM for 12 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University before earning an MBA from Duke University. Despite his prestigious and public role, he manages a quiet personal life including significant philanthropic activities. He does have a strong stance when it comes to technology issues of politics and privacy.

Leadership

6. Arvind Krishna: IBM

Arvind Krishna became CEO of IBM in April 2020, but he is no stranger to the company.  With a 30-year track record at IBM, his positions have been highly focused on cloud technology systems and cognitive software.  He also led the record-breaking successful $34 billion acquisition of Red Hat in 2019. He received his undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology before completing his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Illinois. He has received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from both of his alma maters. Krishna has been an advocate for career development throughout his time at IBM and has shown as much strength in the business side as he has in technologies.

7. Mary Barra: General Motors Co

Mary Barra became CEO of General Motors back in 2014. Barra began her career with GM in 1980 as a co-op student. She has held numerous senior leadership roles at GM including VP of Global Human Resources and VP of Global Manufacturing Engineering.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) in Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School in California.

8. Patrick Gelsinger: Intel

Patrick Gelsinger began his career at Intel in 1979. He left Intel from 2012 to 2019 when he worked for VMware where he almost tripled the company’s revenues. He has played a key role in the establishment of IntelCore and Intel Xeon which have set Intel as a premiere in microprocessors. Gelsinger’s education includes an undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree from Stanford University. He holds numerous patents in computer technology and communications. Gelsinger is also a published author and supports various philanthropic ventures.

9. Jen-Hsun “Jensen” Huang: Nvidia

Jen-Hsun “Jensen” Huang is a co-founder, President, and CEO of Nvidia since its inception in 1993. Nvidia is a technology company that develops processing units for both the gaming and professional markets. He was born in Taiwan and immigrated with his family at the age of 9, eventually settling in Portland Oregon. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State and a master’s in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He also has honorary doctorate degrees from Taiwan’s National Chiao Tung University, National Taiwan University, and Oregon State University. Before Nvidia, Huang worked for LSI Logic and Advanced Micro Devices.

10. Lisa Su: Advanced Micro Devices Inc

Lisa Su was named CEO of Advanced Micro Devices in 2014. She joined AMD in 2012 after spending time at Freescale Semiconductor, IBM and time at Texas Instrument Inc. Her work has included product development of semiconductor microchips and other innovations before taking responsibility for global strategy and marketing at Freescale. Su earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and went on the also earned a master’s and Ph.D. in electrical engineering as well. 

11. Joaquin Duato: Johnson & Johnson

Joaquin Duato replaced Alex Gorsky as CEO of Johnson and Johnson, the world’s largest healthcare company, in January 2022. Originally from Spain, Duato earned his Master of Business Administration at ESADE in Spain and joined Janssen-Pharmaceutica (Spain), a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, in 1998. He later earned a Master of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona and gained increasing responsibilities at Johnson & Johnson over his more than 30-year career. One of his many accomplishments was overseeing the company’s quick and effective response to the pandemic which produced one of the leading Covid-19 vaccines.

12. Chuck Robbins: Cisco Systems

Chuck Robbins became CEO of Cisco Systems in 2015. He has been with the company for over 20 years holding such roles as Senior VP of Worldwide Field Operations, Senior VP of the Americas, and Senior VP of U.S. Enterprises among others. His career before Cisco includes application development at North Carolina National Bank, Bay Networks, and time at Ascend Communications.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a computer science focus from the University of North Carolina. He has been a strong advocate for global privacy legislation in relation to private data protection being a human right.

13. Jon R. Moeller: Procter and Gamble

Jon R. Moeller became President and CEO of P & G in July 2021. Moller earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and an MBA from Cornell University.

Following his MBA, he joined P & G in 1988, serving in various roles throughout his time, including Chief Financial Officer, before becoming CEO. He also holds various seats outside his organization including board positions on the Cincinnati Business Advisory Board and board of trustees of the Cincinnati Art Museum.

14. Safra Catz: Oracle Corp

Safra Catz was named CEO at Oracle Corporation in 2014. Prior to this role, she served as President and COO from 2001. She first joined the multinational technology company in 1999 after working on Wall Street for 14 years. Catz earned her bachelor’s degree from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

15. Enrique Lores: HP Inc

Enrique Lores became CEO of Hewlett-Packard Development Company (HP) in 2019. He started as an intern at HP before developing into senior leadership positions including National and International roles such as SVP of Worldwide Sales. Born in Madrid Spain, he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University Valencia followed by an MBA at ESADE Business School, both in Spain, and eventually moved to Palo Alto California. One of Lores’s passions is to help impact environmental sustainability needs for the planet.

16. Ramon Laguarta: Pepsi Co.

Ramon Laguarta has been with PepsiCo for over 25 years. He was named the company’s CEO in 2018. Throughout his time with the company, he has held numerous senior leadership positions including CEO of the Europe Sub-Saharan Africa sector and President of the company. He is known for pushing to advance sustainability through improved packaging and improved social equity.  A native of Barcelona Spain, Laguarta earned his MBA from ESADE Business School and then went on to complete a Master’s in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

17. Shantanu Narayen: Adobe Inc

Shantanu Narayen has been both chairman and CEO of Adobe since 2007. He first joined Adobe in 1998, beginning as VP and general manager, after he had spent time at both Apple, and was a director at Dell. A native of Hyperbad India, he moved to the United States to complete his education. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, followed by a master’s in business administration from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.

18. Sundar Pichai: Alphabet Inc. 

Sundar Pichai became CEO of Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, in 2019 He first joined Google in 2004, and in addition to other strong roles in the company, he was also named CEO of Google’s starting in 2015, a role that continues. A native of Chennai, India, his education began at the Indian Institute of Technology where he studied mechanical engineering. His education also includes an MBA from Wharton School in Pennsylvania and a master’s from Stanford University.

19. Robert M. Davis: Merck & Co

Robert M. Davis took on the role of CEO at Merck & Co in June 2021, replacing the recently retired Kenneth C. Frazier. Shortly before this, he was also elected President in April 2021 for the multinational pharmaceutical company. He first joined the company as COO in 2014. Prior to joining the company, he held various roles at Baxter and Eli Lilly. Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Miami University in Ohio, followed by an MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management Program and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Northwestern University School of Law, both in Illinois.

20. Michele Buck: Hershey Co

Michele Buck was named CEO of Hershey Co in 2017. She joined the company in 2005 and held various roles including COO for North America, Central and South America. Prior to this, she spent 17 years at Nabisco/Kraft. Buck earned her bachelor’s degree at Shippensburg University and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

21. Charles J. Meyers: Equinix Inc

Charles J. Meyers assumed the role of CEO at Equinix, a company that specializes in data centers, beginning in 2018. Prior to joining Equinix in 2010, Meyers held various senior roles at Verisign, Level 3 Communications, and Bell. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado.  Following that, he then earned dual master’s degrees, one from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and another in engineering from McCormick Graduate School.

22. Mike Roman: 3M Co

Mike Roman became CEO of 3M, a science-based company, in July 2018. Joining the company as a senior engineer in 1988, he has held various senior 3M roles internationally throughout his career at 3M including chief strategist and chief operating officer. Roman earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota followed by a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he holds a board of trustees’ position for the University of Minnesota.

23. Richard Fairbank: Capital One Financial Group

Richard Fairbank, the co-founder of Capital One, has held the role of CEO since its inception in 1994. Prior to launching his company, he held roles including strategic planning associate and then VP, at Signet Banking Corporation. He began his education at Pomona College in California and then transferred to Stanford University to complete his bachelor’s degree in economics. He then went on to complete an MBA from Stanford Graduate School.

24. John Donahoe: Nike Inc

John Donahoe began his role as CEO of Nike in 2020. In addition to serving on the Nike board since 2014, he also maintains a position as chairman of the board at PayPal as well. His work before Nike includes 20 years at Bain & Company as well as CEO for ServiceNow and eBay. Donahoe earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire followed by an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in California.

25. Alfred F. Kelly Jr.: Visa Inc

Alfred F. Kelly Jr. joined Visa as the CEO in 2016. Spending the bulk of his career at American Express before joining Visa, as well as time at Intersection, TowerBrook Capital Partners, the White House, PepsiCo and even CEO of Meadowlands Stadium, host company for the 2014 Super Bowl. He has also served on the Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican since 2020. Kelly earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in computer and Information Science and a Master of Business Administration from Iona College in New York.

26. Kathy Warden: Northrop Grumman Corp

Kathy Warden was named CEO of Northrop Grumman Corp in November 2019. She joined the aerospace and defense technology company in 2008 after holding leadership roles at General Dynamics and the Veridian Corporation, as well as time at General Electric Company. She also served as corporate VP and President of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems and Information Systems sectors. Warden earned her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in Virginia and a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University in Washington.

27. Marc Benioff: Salesforce.com Inc

Marc Benioff, a co-founder at Salesforce.com, has served as CEO since 2001. In 2021, the company added Bret Taylor as co-CEO. Before starting the company, he worked as a programmer in the Macintosh division of Apple and spent 13 years at Oracle where he was named VP in just three years. Benioff earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business administration from the University of Southern California. In 2014, the University awarded him with an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.

28. Robert B. Ford: Abbott Laboratories

Robert Ford was named Abbott Laboratories CEO in 2020. With over 20 years at the company, he began in the diabetes care business, and eventually, he was named chief operating officer and President in 2018. Ford joined Abbott in 1996 and eventually grew to oversee its medical device business and the integration with St. Jude Medical. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston College and a master’s degree in business from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business in California.

29. Michael A. Mussallem: Edwards Lifesciences Corp

Michael A. Mussallem was named CEO of Edwards Lifesciences Corp, a medical technology company, in the year 2000. Prior to joining the company as CEO, he spent time at Baxter in various senior leadership roles including VP of CardioVascular business and VP of biopharmaceutical business. Mussallem earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana and later was given an honorary doctorate degree from there as well. He is also on the board of directors of AdvaMed, Advanced Medical Optics, and the California Healthcare Institute.

30. Jim Farley: Ford Motor Co.

Jim Farley was named CEO of Ford Motor Co in October 2020 after the retirement of Jim Hackett. Farley joined Ford in 1990 and his previous senior roles at Ford included VP of Corporate Strategy of the Global Market first in Canada and Mexico and then later in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at Georgetown University in D.C followed by a degree in management from the University of California (UCLA) Anderson School of Management.

31. Albert Bourla: Pfizer Inc

Albert Boula was named CEO of Pfizer in January 2019. He first joined Pfizer in 1993, starting in the Animal Health division in Greece. He has held senior roles first within the Animal Health division, now known as Zoetis, including serving as President of the European division, and then later in divisions of the greater Pfizer company, expanding into global vaccine and healthcare. Boula earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and holds a Ph.D. in the Biotechnology of Reproduction from the Veterinary School of Aristotle University in Greece.

32. Josh Silverman: Etsy Inc

Josh Silverman was named CEO of Etsy in May of 2017. He held previous senior leadership roles as President at American Express, and CEO of Skype and Shopping.com as well as founding his own company Evite Inc. Silverman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University in Rhode Island and later went on to complete an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He also holds various board positions including the Management board at Stanford and for Shake Shack.

33. Jim Taiclet: Lockheed Martin Corp

Jim Taiclet was named CEO of Lockheed Martin Corp, a technology and aerospace company, in June of 2020 when he joined the company. His prior roles in the public sector include CEO at American Tower Corporation, President at Allied Signal, and VP of Engine Services at Pratt & Whitney. His career began in the U.S. Air Force as a distinguished pilot. He earned his undergraduate degree through the U.S. Air Force Academy followed by a master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University in New Jersey.

34. Douglas Peterson: S & G Global Inc

Douglas Peterson was named CEO of S & G Global Inc, a business analytics company previously known as McGraw Hill Financial, beginning in 2013, only 2 years after he joined the company. Peterson rose up the ranks in a 26-year career at Citibank holding various senior leadership roles including COO and had a 2-year stint as President at Standard & Poors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and history from Claremont McKenna College in California, followed by an MBA from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

35. James Dimon: JPMorgan Chase & Co 

James Dimon was named CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co in December 2005. He was previously CEO at Bank One prior to its merger with JPMC and held senior leadership roles at Citigroup Inc, American Express, Commercial Credit Company and the Traveler’s Group. Dimon earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and economics from Tufts University in Massachusetts followed by an MBA from Harvard Business School. He does not hold any outside board positions.

36. Mark Zuckerberg: Meta Platforms Inc

Mark Zuckerberg, the co-founder of Meta Platforms Inc, has been CEO since 2004. The company, previously known as Facebook, is now the parent company of Facebook, though he has held the role of CEO through its entirety. He is famous for dropping out of undergraduate school at Harvard University when his company took off. While he holds no formal degree, he did take graduate courses at Mercy College while still in high school while also developing computer games.

37. David A. Ricks: Eli Lilly & Co

David A. Ricks was named CEO at Eli Lilly & Co in 2017. With more than 25 years at the company, he started as a business development associate and grew to senior leadership roles including President of the Bio-medicine division, and President of Lilly China. Ricks earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in Indiana and later got his Master of Business Administration for Indiana University.

38. Stephen Squeri: American Express Co. 

Stephen Squeri was named CEO of American Express in 2018. He spent 4 years at Arthur Anderson before beginning 35 yrs.+ his career at AE where he has held senior leadership positions including President of Global Corporate Services and President of Establishment Services in North America. Squeri earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration from Manhattan College in New York.

39. Brian Cornell: Target Corp. 

Brian Cornell was named CEO of Target Corp in August of 2014 when he joined the company. Previous to joining the company, he held senior leadership roles including CEO at Michaels, as well as roles at Safeway Inc, Sam’s Club and PepsiCo. Cornell earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA before attending the UCLA Anderson School of Management’s Executive Program in California.

40. Hans Vestberg: Verizon Communications Inc

Hans Vestburg was named CEO of Verizon in 2018. Prior to joining the company, he spent 25 years at Ericsson Cables, eventually taking on international roles and senior leadership positions such as President of the Mexico division and eventually CEO. He earned a degree in Business Administration and Economics from Uppsala University in Sweden.

41. Robert Bradway: Amgen Inc

Robert Bradway was named CEO of Amgen Inc, a multinational pharmaceutical company, in January 2013. Out of college, he worked at Morgan Stanley as a healthcare investment banker and eventually rose to become managing director. Bradway joined Amgen in 2006. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Amherst College in Massachusetts followed by a master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.

42. Noel R. Wallace: Colgate Palmolive Co. 

Noel R. Wallace was named CEO of Colgate Palmolive Co in 2018. He began with the company in 1987 and held previously senior leadership positions including President of Colgate North America, President of Colgate Latin American and COO of Global Innovation & Growth Hills Pet Nutrition, a subdivision of Colgate. Wallace earned a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration in finance from Texas A & M University.

43. Marc Bitzer: Whirlpool Corp

Marc Bitzer was named CEO of Whirlpool Corp in 2017. He joined the company as VP in 1999, prior to that he spent 8 years at the Boston Consulting Group. Bitzer earned his MBA and doctorate from the St. Gallen Graduate School of Business, Economics and law in Switzerland.

44. Jamie Iannone: Ebay Inc.

Jamie Iannone was named CEO of eBay in April 2020. Iannone spent time in other roles at eBay from 2001-2009, then he went on to other senior leadership roles including VP of Digital Products at Barnes & Noble, COO of Walmart eCommerce, and CEO of Sam’s Club. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Princeton University followed by a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

45. James Quincey: Coca-Cola Co. 

James Quincey was named CEO of Coca-Cola Company in May 2017. Joining the company in 1996 as director of learning in Latin America, his prior roles also include serving as President of Northwest Europe and President and COO from 2015 to 2017. He spent time at The Kalchas Group and McKinsey before joining the Coca-Cola team. Quincey earned his bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the University of Liverpool in the UK.

46. Michale R. Mullen: Agilent Technologies Inc

Michale R. Mullen was named CEO of Agilent Technologies Inc, a spin off company from Hewlett-Packard, in March of 2015 and has been with the company for 30 years. Previous senior roles include President of the Chemical Analysis group and later President and COO. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Delaware and an MBA from Wharton School of Business in Pennsylvania.

47. Jim Umpleby: Caterpillar Inc

Jim Umpleby was named CEO of Caterpillar in January 2017. He first joined a Catapillar subsidiary, Solar Turbines, in 1980 as an associate engineer and eventually progressed to President of ST before he moved to Caterpillar. Umpleby earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and did an executive leadership program at the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.

48. Timothy Archer: Lam Research Corp

Timothy Archer was named CEO of Lam Research Corp in December 2018. Archer’s career began at Textronic in 1999, then spending 18 years at Novellus technologies. He first joined Lam as COO in 2012. He earned his bachelor’s degree in applied physics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) followed by a management development degree from Harvard School of Business.

49. John May: Deere & Co

John May was named CEO of Deere & Co in November 2019. May joined John Deere in 1997 after spending time as a consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick. He served as President and COO prior to his newest position. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire followed by an MBA from the University of Maine. 

Leadership

50. Devin W. Stockfish: Weyerhaeuser Co. 

Devin W. Stockfish was named CEO of Weyerhaeuser Co in 2019. The company is in the timber, land, and forestry product business. Prior to this position, he held roles including Senior VP of Timberlands, and as VP of General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Before completing his law degree, Stockfish spent time as an engineer at Boeing. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado and completed a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado.

51. Gary E. Dickerson: Applied Materials Inc.

Gary E. Dickerson was named CEO of Applied Materials Inc. in September 2013. Prior to this role, he was also CEO of Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc. for seven years, a company that was acquired by Applied Materials in 2011. Dickerson also spent 18 years at KLA-Tencor Corporation in various roles, including COO. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering management and an MBA from the University of Missouri.

52. Geoffrey S. Martha: Medtronic PLC

Geoffrey S. Martha was named CEO of Medtronic PLC in April 2020. Prior to this, he was with GE for 19 years including the role of Managing Director of Business Development Healthcare and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Medtronic during which time he led the acquisition of Covidien. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.

53. Thomas J. Wilson: Allstate Corp. 

Thomas J. Wilson was named CEO of Allstate Corp. in 2007 after spending two years as President and COO. His career began with 6 years at Amoco Corporation, then doing mergers and acquisitions at Dean Witter Reynolds for 7 years and some time as a senior leader at Sears. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan followed by an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Illinois.

54. Cristiano Amon: Qualcomm Inc

Cristiano Amon was named CEO of Qualcomm Inc in June 2021. He joined the company as an engineer in 1995 and had previously been President in addition to other senior roles. Prior to joining the company, he served as chief technical officer for Vesper in Brazil. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and an honorary doctorate from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil.

55. Michael S. Dell: Dell Technologies Inc. 

Michael S. Dell, the founder of Dell Technologies Inc. operated at CEO from 1984 to 2004 and then again starting in 2007 until the present day. He built his thriving company from the ground up. Dell began pre-med at the University of Texas but dropped out before finishing because his small start-up company took off.

56. Ted Decker Home Depot Inc.

Ted Decker was named CEO of Home Depot Inc. in January 2022. Prior to this, he was chief merchant and executive vice president of merchandising for six years. Before he joined HD in 2000, he worked at Kimberly Clark Corp. and Scott Paper Company including international postings. Decker earned a bachelor’s degree in English from The College of William and Mary in Virginia and a master’s degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania.

57. Brian Chambers: Owens Corning

Brian Chambers was named CEO of Owens Corning in 2019. He earned this position after 17 years with OC and holding numerous other senior leadership positions including President of Roofing, VP and General Manager and then President and COO. Chambers spent time at Honeywell, Saint-Gobain and BOC Gasses after his first 7 years at Owens Corning and then returned back to the company. He earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Bowling Green State university in Ohio and a master’s degree in business administration and management from the Kellogg school of Management at Northwestern University in Illinois.

58. Antonio Neri: Hewlett Packard’s Enterprise Co. 

Antonio Neri was named CEO of Hewlett Packard’s Enterprise Co. in 2018. With over 25 years at HPE, he has held various senior leadership roles including VP and General Manager of the Enterprise Group as well as running HP’s Technology Services business and various engineering positions. Neri began his education with military engineer training and continued his formal engineering training at the Escuela Nacional de Educación Técnica and the National Technological University, while still in the Argentine Navy.

59. Gregory J. Hayes: Raytheon Co. 

Gregory J. Hayes was named CEO of Raytheon Co., an aerospace and defense company, in April 2020. He began his career at Sundstrand Corp which was later acquired by United Technologies where he eventual rose to CEO. UT merged with Raytheon in 2020 and Hayes continued as CEO. Hayes started a pre-law degree at Cornell University but later transferred to complete a Bachelor of Economics degree from Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in Indiana.

60. Christopher J. Nassetta: Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. 

Christopher J. Nassetta was named CEO of Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. in 2000. He first joined Host Hotels and Resorts in 1995 as VP, before that he had been CDO at The Oliver Carr Company and founded his own business called Bailey Capital Corporation. Nassetta earned a degree in finance from University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce.

61. Linda Rendle: Clorox Co. 

Linda Rendle was named CEO of Clorox Co. in September 2020. Prior to this, she served as VP and General Manager and then President at Clorox and spent some time at Procter and Gamble before joining the company. Rendle earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University.

62. Doug McMillon: Walmart Inc. 

Doug McMillon was named CEO of Walmart Inc. back in 2014. First joining the company as a associate in high school, we served in various senior leadership roles including president and CEO of Sam’s Club and President of Walmart International. McMillon earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Arkansas, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa.

63. Jane Frazer: Citigroup Inc

Jane Frazer was named CEO of Citigroup Inc in February 2021. She first began her career at Goldman Sachs and then McKinsey & Company before joining Citigroup in 2004 where she held positions including serving as CEO of U.S. Consumer and Commercial Banking and CEO of Citigroup Latin America. Frazer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Girton College followed by a Master of Arts degree in economics from Cambridge University and her Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.

64. Michael Mieback: Mastercard Inc.

Michael Mieback was named CEO of Mastercard Inc. in January 2021.  Prior to joining Mastercard in 2021, he held senior roles at both Barclays Bank and Citibank. When he joined the company, he led its Middle East and Africa operations. Mieback holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Passau in Germany.

65. Sanjiv Lamba: Linde PLC

Sanjiv Lamba was named CEO of Linde PLC, a global chemical company, in February 2022 after serving as COO and executive VP.  Lamba started his career in 1989 with BOC India in Finance and was later Managing Director for the India business. Lamba earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta University, India.

66. Rich Templeton: Texas Instruments Inc. 

Rich Templeton was named CEO of Texas Instruments Inc. back in 2018. He first joined the company in 1980 and held various senior roles including 4 years as COO. Templeton earned his a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Union College in New York.

67. Jeff Harmening: General Mills Inc

Jeff Harmening was named CEO of General Mills Inc in June 2017. Having first joined the company out of college in 1994 in the marketing department, his senior roles have included CEO of Cereal Partners, President of Big G Cereal, and COO of global operations. Harmening earned his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University followed by an MBA from Harvard University.

68. H. Lawrence Culp Jr.: General Electric Co. 

H. Lawrence Culp Jr. was named CEO of General Electric Co. in 2018, shortly after he joined the company. Prior to joining GE, he was President and CEO of Danaher Corporation from 2000 to 2014. Culp earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Washington College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

69. Fabrizio Freda: Estee Lauder Companies

Fabrizio Freda was named CEO of Estee Lauder Companies back in 2009 after joining the company in March 2008. Prior to joining The Estée Lauder Co., Freda had a 20-year career at Procter & Gamble (P&G) including Health and Beauty Care and Global Snacks divisions. He earned a degree in economics & business administration from the University of Naples Federico II.

70. George Oliver: Johnson Controls International

George Oliver was named CEO of Johnson Controls International om September of 2017. He joined JC, a company that manufacturers building H-vac and security equipment, in 2016 as President and COO. Prior to this, Oliver served as CEO of Tyco when then merged with JC in 2016. Before Tyco, he spent 20 years in various roles at GE. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts.

71.  David Kenny: Nielsen Holdings PLC

David Kenny was named CEO of Nielsen Holdings PLC, a technology company, in 2018. Prior to this he held the role of Senior Vice President of Cognitive Solutions at IBM as well as holding senior positions at The Weather Company which was eventually acquired by IBM. He earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial administration from Kettering University (previously the GM Institute) and holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

72. Darius Adamczyk: Honeywell International Inc. 

Darius Adamczyk was named CEP of Honeywell International Inc. in 2017. He joined the company in 2008 when it was acquired Metrologic where he was serving as CEO at the time. Prior senior roles at Honeywell include President of Mobility business and President of Process Solutions. Adamczyk began his career as an electrical engineer at General Electric. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Michigan State University followed by an MBA from Harvard University and, a master’s degree in computer engineering from Syracuse University.

73. Billy Gifford: Altria Group Inc. 

Billy Gifford was named CEO at Altria Group Inc., a large tobacco product producer, in 2020. He first joined the company in 1994 and has had senior leadership roles including senior VP of Strategy and Business as well as president and CEO of Philip Morris USA, for which Altria is a parent company. Gifford earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Saint Louis University.

74. Christian Ulbrich: Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. 

Christian Ulbrich was named CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. back in 2016. He joined the real estate and investment management company in 2005, holding roles including Managing Director for Germany and CEO of the Germany-wide HIH Group. He began his career as an investment banker. Ulbrich earned a degree in business administration from the University of Hamburg and attended the Stanford University Executive program.

75. Bruce D. Broussard: Humana Inc. 

Bruce D. Broussard was named CEO of Humana Inc., a health insurance company, back in 2013. He first joined the health insurance company in 2011. Previous a merger, he was President and COO of Oncology Inc as well as VP of the Pharm division, CEO of Harbor Dental and CEP of Regency Health Services.  Broussard earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A & M and an MBA from the University of Houston.

76. Michael D. Hsu: Kimberly-Clark Corp. 

Michael D. Hsu was named CEO of Kimberly-Clark Corp. in 2019. He joined the consumer paper-based company as President in 2012. Prior to this, he held senior leadership roles at Kraft Foods and H.J. Heinz. Hsu earned a bachelor’s degree from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburg and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

77. Blake Moret: Rockwell Automations Inc. 

Blake Moret was named CEO of Rockwell Automations Inc. in July 2016. He joined the industrial automation company back in 1985 as a sales trainee and grew to roles including senior VP of Control Products and international assignments. Moret earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from George Tech in Georgia.

78. Andreas Fibig: International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. 

Andreas Fibig was named CEO of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc back in 2014 but he has announced he plans to retire in 2022. Previously he was President of Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals and Senior VP/General Manager at Pfizer. Fibig earned a degree in Marketing and Business Management from Berlin’s University of Economics in Germany.

79. Sasan K. Goodarzi: Intuit Inc. 

Sasan K. Goodarzi was named CEO of Intuit Inc., a financial software company, in 2019. With more than 15 years at the company, he has held roles including VP and general manager of Small Business and VP of Intuit’s Consumer Tax Group. He also held senior roles at Honeywell and Invensys prior to joining the company. Goodarzi earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Central Florida and a master’s in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

80. Tom Palmer: Newmont Corp. 

Tom Palmer was named CEO of Newmont Corp. in 2019. Prior to this he was President and COO from 2016 and also Senior VP of the Asia Pacific division. Before joining the gold mining company, he served as COO of Pilbara Mines and General manager at Hail Creek Cole mine. Palmer earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering from Monash University in Australia.

81. Tom Linebarger: Cummins Inc. 

Tom Linebarger was named CEO of Cummins Inc. back in 2012. He began his career as an investment analyst and investment manager at Prudential Investment Corporation but also had worked as an intern at Cummins during his time at Stanford. He held several different VP roles at the company that specializes in diesel and alternative fuel engines and generators. Linebarger earned undergraduate degrees in both management engineering from Claremont McKenna College and mechanical engineering from Stanford University. He later returned to Stanford University to earn an MS in manufacturing systems from the School of Engineering and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business.

82. Dave Regnery: Trane Technologies PLC

Dave Regnery was named CEO of Trane Technologies PLC in July of 2021. He previously served as the industrial manufacturing company’s president and chief operating officer and president of the Commercial HVAC business.  Regnery earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northeastern University followed by a Master of Business Administration from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.  

83. Raghu Raghuram: VMware Inc. 

Raghu Raghuram was named CEO of VMware Inc. as of June 2021. He joined the technology company in 2003 and held company roles including Chief Operating Officer, Products and Cloud Services and General Manager of Cloud infrastructure. Prior to joining VMware, he was at ALO. Raghuram earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

84. Leonard Schleifer: Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. 

Leonard Schleifer is a co-founder and was named CEO Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc from its inception in 1988. Prior to the start-up, he worked as physician in neurology at a New York Hospital. Schleifer earned a B. S. from Cornell University and an MD and PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Virginia.

85. Kevin Johnson: Starbucks Corporation

Kevin Johnson was named CEO of Starbucks Corporation in 2017. Prior to joining the coffee company in 2009, he spent 16 years at Microsoft and five years as CEO of Juniper Networks and worked in National Security Telecommunication Advisory Committee during the terms of George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from New Mexico State University

86. Dan Schulman: Paypal Holdings Inc.

Dan Schulman was named CEP of Paypal Holdings Inc. Back in July of 2015. He began his career at AT&T where he stayed for 18 years, then he became president and COO, and then CEO of Priceline.com. Some of his previous roles include Group President at American Express and President of the Prepaid Group at Sprint Nextel Corporation. After that he was asked to become the founding CEO of Virgin Mobile USA, Inc. Schulman earned a BA from Middlebury College in Vermont and an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business in Ney York.

87. Andrew Anagnost: Autodesk Inc. 

Andrew Anagnost was named CEO of Autodesk Inc. in 2017. He began his career at the software product company in 1997 after positions at Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Company, and EXA Corporation and work at NASA Ames Research Center as an NRC post-doctoral fellow. Anagnost earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and then both an MS in Engineering Science and a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford University.

88. Terrence Curtin: TE Connectivity Ltd. 

Terrence Curtin was named CEP of TE Connectivity Ltd. in 2017. Prior to this, in his over 20 years at the company, he led the technology company’s Industrial Solutions segment and had been TE’s Corporate Controller. Prior to joining TE, he worked at Arthur Andersen LLP. Curtin earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Albright College.

89. Richard A. Gonzales: AbbVie Inc

Richard A. Gonzales was named CEO of AbbVie Inc back in 2013 when the biopharmaceutical company separated from Abbott. At Abbot he held various senior leadership positions including President and COO of the Medical Products Group, Senior VP and President of the former Hospital Products Division, and President and VP of the Health Systems Division. Gonzales began a bachelor’s in biochemistry at the University of Houston in Texas but did not complete the degree.

90. Patrick Kaltenbach: Mettler-Toledo International Inc. 

Patrick Kaltenbach was named CEO of Mettler-Toledo International Inc. in April 2021 when he joined manufacturer of scales and analytical instruments company. Prior to this he was President of the Life Sciences and Applied Markets Group in addition to other senior leadership roles at Agilent, also when it was previously Hewlett Packard, which he joined in 1991. Kaltenbach earned an advanced degree in Precision Engineering from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

91. Francis DeSouza: Illumina Inc. 

Francis DeSouza was named CEO of Illumina Inc. back in 2016. He joined the integrated systems for the analysis of genetic variation and biological function company as President in 2013. Prior to that he served as President of Products and Services at Symantec Corporation, a company that acquired IMlogic which co-founded. Before this, he cofounded Flash Communications which was later acquired by Microsoft. DeSouza earned a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

92. Mark Clouse: Campbell Soup Co. 

Mark Clouse was named CEO of Campbell Soup Co in 2019. His previous senior management positions include roles at Mondelēz International and 20-years at Kraft Foods Inc., as well as CEO of Pinnacle Foods. Clouse earned Bachelor of Science in Economics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point during his time of service in the Army.

93. Rob Fauber: Moody’s 

Rob Fauber was named CEO of Moody’s in January 2021. He joined the business and financial services company in in 2005 where his previous roles have included COO, President of Moody’s Investors Service and Head of Moody’s Corporate Development. Fauber earned his B.A. in economics from the University of Virginia and his M.B.A. from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University.

94. Aneel Bhusri: Workday Inc. 

Aneel Bhusri is co-CEO and co-founder of Workday Inc., a financial management and human capital management software vendor. Prior to this, he held several leadership positions at PeopleSoft, including vice chairman of the board and senior vice president Senior VP of product strategy. Bhusri earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and economics from Brown University in Rhode Island and a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University. 

95. Michael Vounatsos: Biogen Inc. 

Michael Vounatsos was named CEO of Biogen Inc in January 2017 after joining the biotechnology company as Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer in April 2016. Prior to this he spent 20 years at Merck, including a role as President of Primary Care and Customer Centricity in the United States. Vounatsos earned a C.S.C.T. certificate in Medicine from the Université Victor Segalen in France and an M.B.A. from the HEC School of Management in Paris.

96. Corie Barry: Best Buy Co.

Corie Barry was named CEO of Best Buy Co. in June of 2011. She has held a variety of financial and operational roles across the organization, including CFO in 2016 and chief strategic growth officer. Prior to joining Best Buy, she was auditor at Deloitte & Touche. Barry earned her bachelor’s degrees in accounting and management from the College of St. Benedict.

97. James P. Gorman: Morgan Stanley

James P. Gorman was named CEO of Morgan Stanley back in 2010. Prior to joining the financial company in 2006, he began his career as an attorney in Melbourne, Australia, then he was a senior partner of McKinsey & Co. aandspent time working at Merrill Lynch. Gorman earned a B.A. and Law degree from the University of Melbourne and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

98. Carol B. Tomé: United Parcel Service Inc. 

Carol B. Tomé was named CEO of the United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) in June 2020.  She began her career as a commercial lender with United Bank of Denver (now Wells Fargo), then went on to hold positions at The Home Depot and VP and Treasurer of Riverwood International Corporation. Tomé earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Denver in Colorado.

99. Peter R. Huntsman: Huntsman Corp. 

Peter R. Huntsman was named CEO of Huntsman Corp. beginning in 2000. His father founded the manufacturer and marketer of chemical products company. His previous senior roles at the company include President and COO, Senior VP and General Manager and Senior VP of Packaging since joining the family business in 1987. No education background was located for him.

Tie: 100. Lawrence E. Kurzius: McCormick & Co. 

Lawrence E. Kurzius was named COO of McCormick & Co. back in 2016. He joined the food company through the acquisition of Zatarain’s, where he spent 12 years and was President and CEO. Other senior roles he has held include President – U.S. Consumer Foods, President – International Businesses and, and President and COO. Kurzius earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Princeton University.

Tie: 100. Anthony Capuano: Marriot International Inc. 

Anthony Capuano was named CEO of Marriot International Inc. in February of 2021. With over ten years at the lodging company, holding senior positions including beginning as Market Planning and Feasibility team, and later Group President of Global Development. Prior to joining Marriot Int, he worked at Kenneth Leventhal & Co as well as Laventhol & Horwath. Capuano earned a bachelor’s degree Hotel Administration from Cornell University in New York.
